heya

a great (and easy?)mod would be and enchancing playtime mod.
if possible, split up the world, make the countrys smaller (sub country, regions of a country?) and the ufo should appear after.. dunno 50 days or something like that. increase researchtime, maybe change it, more guns or more specialized research on some guns..
more xp per enemy, more enemys..

seriously, i can conquer the world too fast, more countrys and a smaller and more "logical" proceed would be great. like taking the world step by step, same goes for researching.

anybody supports the idea?

in JA 2 you have only 4 types of enemies ( humans , bloodcats , crepitus and tanks smile.gif so i think it is better to randomize stats and equipment of enemies

um... the first part of your mod is not fast or easy to make.. in fact i dont think its possible ..

Maybe it's time you tried a higher difficulty setting...

i got both installed, but they only bring some 10 hours more fun i would say. if a change of the world is not possible.. well then good bye ufo aftershock after another 10 hours :/

best way in increase difficulty and games lifespan is to greatly reduce the chance of winning a territory, ie you have to do LOT more missions before you win it.



but ALSO you need to add this to the mutants and cultist etc


IE attacking mutants and cultist territory no longer guarntees winning it (ie your forces presss deeper into there territory but not deep enough to claim it)




if somebody could add a mod that did that, thn i would certainly use it, i dont want game to get harder but i DO want it to last MUCH longer

hm i like that idea, but there is a mistake

since the maps are not generated, you would play like every map 10 times before you claim it. and that would suck, since it would be a repeating progress.. over and over again.

but if possible a 3 way mod would own.
1. clear the outer rim of a map
2. next stage would be entering a complex
3. then that inside mission

but a modder have to add the aliens and make it each time different and challaging. dunno if possible, but if, its a lot of work

I cant see anything stopping the introduction of 3 part missions... possibly more parts even. Although at this time 3 part missions have a few drawbacks.

1. No XP for the extra kills in the first and second parts

2. No loot of any of the kills in the first and second parts

3 Known issues later in game with multipart missions causing CTD's

4 Final part of all multipart mission must be elimate hostiles

If the CTD issue is sorted in the next patch ill mod the game to have a few of the available missions have multiparts beyond the current one included in the game so far.

well, it was meant in a different way. see it like this:
new territory appears and you hit the "mission" button. first mission would be "eleminate a number of mutants". normal map, nothing indoor. finished mission with loot & xp
then you hit the mission button again and then this 2 stage mission appears (or a single mission appears and after that, the 2 stage mission, or a one stage mission appears (indoor if possible), to gain the xp and loot).

that would slow down the progress and you have to think about what you attack when and it would take up more time (conquering the world in 30 days is..erm not realistic). if you adjust the ufo incoming, the orderpeople and the research it would own.
but if you do so, it would be best to change the maps. or change the spawnpositions & numbers of enemys (kind of enemy too) to make it harder & not always the same.

yeah, that would be a nice boost of playtime and fun (if loadingtimes & cts are reduced o/c)

Rhenus had the right idea to what i refering too, you basically have to do several 'MISSIONS' in a territory before you capture it, not single multi-part mission.


tho i think the idea is really more 'expansion pack' territory but maybe good modders can truely impress us with a 'struggle' system


struggle system woul basical be like Rhenus 3 tier, first mission outdoor battle, 2nd mission 'aproaching the base' (more urban style) and 3rd tier would be the '2 part' enter base and kill all inside mission.



however with struggle system if you win you advance to next phase (outdoor to approach, or approach to base entry), if you lose you get pushed back and to start again from first phase (Back to the outdoor mission regualess how far in you got)
