ALTAR games official forum > UFO: Aftershock > UFO:AS Modding
Shai_Hulud
Greetings once again. As I also promised i share the tool for editing data. What data? Any! Which you can describe by language of schemes and structures.

The instruction of installation:
1. Download the program
2. Download and Install Managed DirectX Installation (v.9.02 )
3. Download and Install .NET Framework 2.0
4. Unpack program archive
5. Run DataCore.Design.exe

Program do not need internet connection( this version )
Program do not view, copy, send your information

current version 0.9b
Supported formats:
- Ufo:AS Models (bin, text)
- Ufo:AS Models skeletons (text)
- Ufo:AS Models animation packs (bin)
Supported languages:
- Russian
- English

As you have noticed, the program does not support model for game Ufo:Afterlight. It on that that I from the poor African country and at me was not present money for a new box with game... Even on piracy. A joke. Simply I do not have time to assort one more binary format by means of hex editor.

You likely sweep up that the browser of models from the last version was gone. Yes, eyes do not bring you, you will not find it. It has been excluded since in it there is no need. You will be pleased with two items Export/Import which are constantly disabled. For their work it is necessary to find the courageous programmer which will write library with expansions (as it will make it is written later), or to inform me in this topic which format of data you wish to export/import and support specification documentation.

P.s. and where is text color panel on forum?!

How to: Customise designer

1. Localization
You can localize the designer on native language for you, or on language accessible to your modders team. For the beginning you should choose what part of the designer you wish to localize. localization.*.xml the base file with the text which is used by a kernel of the designer. - localization.designer.*.xml the file with the text which is used in the designer and with each data format there is the a set of files of localizations on different languages.

In standard designer package there is a description of a format of models for game Ufo:Aftershock at which there are 2 files of localization:
localization.modelformat.en.xml - English
localization.modelformat.ru-RU.xml - Russian

Choose the necessary file.
Make its copy and name according to a rule:
localization.<a name of a format>.<Language>.xml
for example: localization.modelformat.en.xml
if you wish to create localization in English.
1. Start the designer
2. Choose in menu File-> Open - Localization file...
3. Find and open the file created by you.
4. In the open document double click on a cell in a column "Text" and translate a line
5. Save it

Now it is necessary to connect files of localization.
If you translated files of localization of a format of data you should open the description of a data format:
1. In the menu to choose File-> Open-> Data format file...
2. To find and open the description of that format which you translated
3. In the menu to choose Data format->Settings
4. Select "Localization" option
5. Cause the contextual menu on the list of sources of localization
6. Choose "Add"
7. In the appeared window to choose language on which you translated and to specify the name of a file in which translation is stored.
8. Press "Add"
9. To choose last wizard's option
10. Press "Save"
11. Save the description of a format

If you translated files of localization of the designer that it is necessary to connect them through options of designer:
1. To choose in menu View->Options...
2. To choose item "Localization"
If you translated a file "localization.*.xml"
3. To press "Browse..." for "Main localization file"
If you translated a file "localization.designer.*.xml"
3. To press "Browse..." for "Designer localization file"
4. Select a file in which translation is stored
5. Press "Ok"
